Colorado and the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

These photos were taken on a recent trip to Colorado. This photo of the mountains was taken in the morning. The smog between Denver and Colorado Springs hid the bottom of the mountains. The shutter speed was 1/1000 sec because the photo was taken from a moving vehicle.

The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, outside of Colorado Springs is a really wonderful zoo, especially for children. The following photos are of a mountain lion, Hooded Merganser Duck (male), and a barn owl.

John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge

The John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge is near the Philadelphia International Airport. Use this address for GPS: 8601 Lindbergh Blvd, Philadelphia, PA. I used Bartram Ave, S 84th Street, and Lindbergh Blvd.
There is a large sign, on the walking path, for viewing the eagle's nest.

Beautiful barn and stone farm house

Photos of a beautiful barn and stone farm house.
I have wanted to take these photos for years but there was either too much or too little foliage, or the light wasn't right. Finally, today was the right opportunity.

Overseas Adventure Travel is a good travel company for travelers, not tourists. The company helps us understand a country's people, culture, food, climate, and ecology.

These are a few of the photos.

Eastern State Penitentiary

Eastern State Penitentiary was built in Philadelphia, PA, in 1822-1836. The building, with cellblocks like the spokes of a wheel, became a model for over 300 prisons worldwide. It was closed in 1971. This photo shoot was sponsored by the Chester County Camera Club. More photos are on this slide show: http://www.kuhnfamily.com/pictures/CCCC/ESP/index.html
